Completed May 2009, Recent statistics show that by the year 2050 the world’s population will increase from 6 billion to 9 billion and almost 80% percent will reside in Urban Areas. With this scenario in the future, at some point, crops will begin to shrink and become scarcer. URBAN AGRONOMICS was designed in response to this issue and create more sustainable food production within urban areas. The main features of this specific project are the Biocolumns which grow produce and interchangeable horizontal trays that serve as platforms for an above ground park.
